NEW ARCADE FIRE RECORD DETAILS
"The Arcade Fire's third album now has a name -- The Suburbs -- and an August 3 release date in the U.S., according to a post on the band's official site.
Recorded in New York and Montreal, and produced by the band and Markus Dravs, the album will be preceded, as previously reported, by a 12-inch single for the album's title track -- its near-future, semi-apocalyptic lyrics are posted here -- and "Month of May," both of which were played in their entirety for the first time yesterday on select radio stations around the world. Both songs are now streaming, in full, via the band's snazzy record player-like widget. Listen below.
The vinyl single, out today, is mostly available in independent record stores, the band said in their post, but the two songs are also available for purchase as digital downloads right now via arcadefire.com.
The full-length album is also available for pre-order in a varied array of packages, from digital downloads to CDs to a $44.99 package that includes double 12" vinyl, a digital version, and a signed, limited edition poster.
The Suburbs arrives the Tuesday before the band's first American gig of the year: August 8 at Chicago's Lollapalooza."

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT DJ MINDCONTROL AKA MK ULTRA
Basically the dude was all over the place and after a brief hiatus he's back like cooked crack getting it crackin like cracked corn...yep. His style is pretty different and he's has his hand in Drum-N-Bass, Reggae, Hip-Hop, indie Rock, etc. He's working with some pretty bonkers talent right now which I'm not at liberty to say until the shit is finalized but definitely be on the lookout. I've posted a couple tracks he's done with family Orikal Uno and you know those are dope. Repping Aztek Records. He also happens to be an incredible talent in the art whirld also, so buy some shit from him.
Brief Bio from the man himself
"Born in San jose, Costa rica, MK Ultra is a pseudonym for the 'producer" status of DJ Mindcontrol. Like all alter ego's, the fantastic voyage of one man is chronicled in the forth comin album "War for your mind"
With a heavy influence in Exo-politics and such conspiracy's as 911,waco and 2012. The forefront of MK ULTRA stem's from a fascination with informing the mass sleeping population to the global threat of "bank-gangsters" and Buildabergers alike.
From the streets of Minneapolis and heart of the native Costa Rican/cuban comes a release this summer you have been waiting for."
"ATLANTIS" feat. MARK ULTRA
"WAR" instr. feat. MARK ULTRA
"OBEY:MARK ULTRA" fea. MK ULTRA
"HEAR THIS" RASTA-DnB version
"DONT STEP" Jump Up-jungle ( MK ULTRA)
"Sunlight" fea. ORIKAL UNO
"WAR 4 YOUR MIND" (jello remix) ORIKAL UNO-MK ULTRA

NEW JAPANDROIDS
"Japandroids’ cover of UK alt/noise-rock trio Mclusky’s “To Hell With Good Intentions” appears on No Singles, a recent compilation of two previously self-released EPs. Or, if you’re a Japandroids diehard you might already have one of those EP, 2007’s All Lies, and therefore the song. If neither of these situations apply, or if you need a new pair of discounted sneakers, head over to Saucony, where you can download the song for free along with Best Coast’s “When I’m With You” B-Side “This Is Real,” and a Saucony coupon. It’s all part of the “Perfect Pairs” campaign. The songs are clearly not “rare and unreleased.” I have no idea what any of this means"

NEW PUGS ATOMZ MIXTAPE
"Chi-town emcee and Gent$ member Pugs Atomz has linked up with DJBooth.net, FakeShoreDrive.com, CoalMine Music and Fat Beats to present Kinda Like a Mixtape, the official prelude to his and Grant Parks’ collaborative studio album, Kinda Like a Rapper (out June 1).
Booth-premiered leak “Listen to My Album” sets the stage for the brand new street album, which finds Pugs serving up 13 tracks’ worth of vivid storytelling and braggadocious bravado while giving listeners a tour of hip-hop’s past and present.
Making guest appearances throughout the set are such Booth-approved artists as K. Sparks, Nikki Lynette, Gerald Walker and fellow Gent Wes Restless. Production comes courtesy of Slot A, DJ Vadim, Ill Poetic and more."

LISTEN TO TO THE NEW RATATAT RECORD RIGHT MEOW
"Ratatat's LP4 essentially consists of leftovers from its predecessor's recording sessions. But sometimes, leftovers make the most delectable feasts around.
Following the release of Classics in 2006, multi-instrumentalist and producer Evan Mast and guitarist Mike Stroud ditched their apartment studio in Brooklyn and headed to the Catskill Mountains. The prolific session at Old Soul Studios yielded roughly 30 songs, the first half of which would become the duo's aptly titled third album, LP3. The other half would comprise LP4, which comes out June 8.
Although LP4 is born of the same crop as LP3, it's not just more of the same. Mast and Stroud have reworked the songs meticulously in the two years since they were recorded. The duo pursues more ambitious arrangements this time, incorporating a full string section recorded at a later session in New York.
LP4 features sounds unheard on previous Ratatat albums — notable additions, given how recognizable the duo's tailored sound has become. Japanese strings, an assortment of international percussion instruments and other bells and whistles turn up on LP4. It's an exercise in and of itself to decipher each expertly arranged element, but Stroud says the mysterious quality is intentional.
Still, there's some continuity to LP4. Ratatat's movement away from guitar loops and preprogrammed beats toward live keyboards and percussion is a carryover from LP3. And returning from the duo's self-titled 2004 debut are brief spoken interludes — this time in German and English — which punctuate several songs on LP4 ("Bilar," "Drugs," "Neckbrace," "Bob Gandhi," "Bare Feast"). The interludes might seem strange to listeners, but weird seems to be what Ratatat was going for.
LP4 is full of unlikely twists and turns. "Bare Feast," for example, sounds vaguely South Asian, but borrows from a smattering of international influences. And "Bob Ghandi" attacks with menacing percussion before evolving into a positively charged dance party.
Ultimately, LP4 — streaming here in its entirety until its release on June 8 — showcases Stroud and Mast's immense talent for writing incredibly catchy electronic rock. Even without lyrics, their music has the momentum of a pop song. Through escalation and decay, Ratatat can capture and hold the attention of even the most distracted listener."
This record is hard as shit. Buy it June 8th.

NEW MUSIC BY SIA...VIA VIDEO?
TAKEN FROM HER BLOG:
"so i made my new albarooniooski, it's called WE ARE BORN and turned into a kind of disco album, if i may be so bold.
i went in to kingsize studios in eagle rock, los angeles, fell in love with the taco truck ladies opposite, took the dogs to work everyday, had my intern clean up their poop (me), had my intern fix me iced coffees (me), had my intern sing most of the record (me), and i'm pretty pleased with the results.
greg kurstin produced WE ARE BORN and i love him. i loved him when we wrote a million songs for a never released pop album 5 years ago, and when we wrote death by chocolate for my last record, but now i love him more. we stole some songs from formerly mentioned pop record for this one, as apparently i am finally allowed to make an uptempo record, and am no longer confined to being 'a downtempo songstress'. he also has a brand new baby which makes me love him further.
appearing on this record are old trusties samuel dixon on bass (king of the fart people/dog energy worker), felix bloxsom on the drums (queen of all hairdressing/massage therapist to the stars), oliver krause on strings (prince of cocktails and canapes/distributor of warm fuzzies) and greg kurstin on piano and bloops and blopsounds (lord of bloop and blops/the anti tyrant) and more more friends. a new and spectacular addition to this album is nick valensi of THE STROKES fame on guitar (princess of the dance/poet to the childrens).
Nick has been my guitar hero for a while and i was thrilled when he agreed to be a part of my new thang. it's so obviously him on the record and he donated a bazillion great new hooks and lines, which is exactly why i sought him out in the first place, so, i'm stroked. i mean stoked. (somebody kill me, that was terrible.)
looks like it'll be a 13 track record and i'm so gay about it all right now."
